Unlike the plants, the fauna of the taiga is more diverse. There are species of large and small mammals, lots of insects that act as pollinators and decomposers, birds and few reptiles. (the reptiles have a difficult time regulating their temperature in the weather). There are lots of fish species, including but not limited to blackfish, pike, salmon, species of whitefish, lamprey and trout.
