Animals And Plant Life

Animals Of The Boreal Forest
Unlike the plants, the fauna of the taiga is more diverse. There are species of large and small mammals, lots of insects that act as pollinators and decomposers, birds and few reptiles. (the reptiles have a difficult time regulating their temperature in the weather). There are lots of fish species, including but not limited to blackfish, pike, salmon, species of whitefish, lamprey and trout.

Mostly coniferous trees (Spruce, fir, larch, pine)
Southern part of forest is more deciduous, broad leafed trees.(birch, aspen, willow, oak, maple.elm)

The southern part of the taiga has a closed canopy, while the northern has sparser trees.

Taigas have a low botanical variation. Grasses will grow in any patch of sunlight and moss grows in moist areas
